A handsome pair of framed prints from Anglo-Irish archaeologist and painter Edward Dodwell (1767-1832), reproducing two of his classic views of bronze-age Greece: "Mycenae" and "Tiryns." Both images derive from Dodwell's historic folio Views in Greece published in 1819 and based on drawings the artist made during his Greek travels in the early 19th century just prior to the formation of modern Greece. Each bears the original "E. Dodwell 1834" plate caption and depicts the massive Cyclopean stonework of these legendary Bronze Age citadels in what is now the Argolida region of Greece.

Beautifully presented as a matched set in dark wood frames and museum-quality glass, with almost no glare, ready to hang. Together they make a striking, scholarly wall pairing for a study, library, gallery wall, or any room with a taste for classical history and architecture.

These are reproductions after Dodwell's 1834 lithographs, likely dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. Each framed piece measures 14.5" H x 20.5" E x 1.5" D including the frame. The frames have minor scratches and discoloration.
