Beautiful 1960's 24 carat gold encrusted and decorated fine porcelain dinnerware set in the "Golden Grail" pattern by Rosenthal. The design features a wide beige band decorated with gold outer rim and gold "grid" pattern. With a heavy gold encrusted inner band surrounding a white center.

Introduced in 1961 - "Golden Grain" was one of Rosenthal's most popular patterns for thirty years. The mark on the reverse indicates that this set was produced between 1961 and 1965. Designed by Raymond Loewy. Originally part of their "Continental" line of 24 patterns created for the American market by the Rosenthal-Block China Corporation. In 1975 "Continental" was incorporated into Rosenthal's Studio brand. Founded in 1879 Rosenthal continues to produce fine porcelain in Selb, Bavaria.
