The headband is decorated with a cast repeating register consisting of two rows of small circular bosses separated by a central band of raised dots and geometric scrollwork. Rising from the band are six curved ribs that converge at the apex into a central floral-form finial, which is topped with a simple rounded boss. Near the junction of the ribs and the finial, each rib is ornamented with a relief-molded element resembling an elongated human figure or stylized zoomorphic form.
