The centerpiece bowl is a Chinese hand-painted earthenware vessel featuring a scalloped rim and two gilded handles. The exterior is decorated in a raised moriage style with beaded accents against a dark blue ground, featuring a central polychrome panel depicting a group of figures, including a woman holding a child, amidst foliage. The base is marked with a red printed stamp reading MADE IN CHINA. The second item is a Chinese porcelain planter of globular form decorated with a continuous landscape scene in the Satsuma style, depicting figures in traditional Japanese attire near a pagoda and cherry blossoms. The base bears a blue printed mark reading MADE IN CHINA above the number 28.
