That second, smaller box explains why it's a complete set and pushes your figurine to the absolute top of its market value.
That smaller secondary box originally held the custom wooden display base . When Lladro shipped their high-end, limited-edition sculptures, they packaged the fragile porcelain in the large box with custom-fitted foam inserts, while the heavy wooden base was boxed separately to prevent it from shifting and smashing the delicate flowers during transport

Issued in 2000 and retired in 2002 as a limited collectors release of 5,000 pieces. Similar pieces have sold for over 1000 dollars with box & base.  Piece is signed on the bottom, by the maker & decorator. See pics for condition. The box measures approx 15h x 24w x 15d inches. E-6710
