This genuine Colt Second Generation example corresponds to the F-1400 standard-production configuration and features a 5-inch octagonal barrel, five-shot rebated round cylinder, hinged loading lever, one-piece walnut grip, Colt blued barrel and cylinder, color case-hardened frame, hammer, and loading components, and silver-plated brass grip straps. The cylinder displays the traditional stagecoach holdup scene. Of particular collector importance, the revolver remains complete with its correct black-and-gold The Authentic Colt Blackpowder Series box featuring Samuel Colt portrait and signature graphics, along with a complete accessory group consisting of powder flask, bullet mold, cap can, and nipple wrench. The accessory set itself remains in new condition, making this an unusually complete and beautifully preserved package.

Colts Second Generation black-powder revolvers were produced as authentic factory-marked recreations of the companys historic percussion designs, with the F-Series representing the later phase of that program.
