Belgian FN Model 1950 Venezuelan Contract .30-06 Set Trigger Mfg. 1950s

This Belgian FN Model 1950 Venezuelan Contract Mauser is chambered in .30-06 and dates to the 1950s. Serial number 20245 is consistent with postwar FN production, although an exact year cannot be established from the serial number alone. This rifle has been sporterized and is assembled with a combination of original and aftermarket components. The original 23.5-inch barrel remains with the rifle and is matching to the receiver. The rifle features a set trigger and is fitted with an aftermarket synthetic stock with a 14.25-inch length of pull. The rifle also incorporates components associated with German Mauser rifles, including the magazine floorplate, while the screws present appear to be from a different firearm. A Redfield 6x scope with a 1-inch tube is mounted on the rifle. The original blued finish appears to remain well preserved, adding attractive character to this otherwise sporterized example.

The FN Model 1950 represents Belgium's postwar continuation of the highly successful Mauser bolt-action design and was supplied to military and government contracts around the world, including Venezuela.
