A captivating, Spanish 19th century tooled leather folding screen-over six feet tall-embossed with floral & foliate motifs that cover the surface to expansive effect. The four connected panels are each crowned with a low arch, they feature overflowing garden urns with delicate blossoms accented in fine polychrome of blue and pink for depth against the dark leather, surrounded by dimensional Arabesque curls and geometric pattern. Canvas trim painted a glistening bronze-attached by a line of nailheads-surrounds each panel for additional contrast. Patina as expected from time and use including one puncture and general craquelure throughout. Natural canvas backing is visible on the reverse side (which is undecorated at present) but could be modified to use this folding screen as a room divider.
