This collection of wooden quill bobbins dates to the late 19th through early 20th century (c. 1880's-1930's), when they were used in textile mills to hold yarn within shuttle looms. Each bobbin is crafted of hardwood with a reinforced brass tip designed to endure heavy industrial use. The decorative red-and-white thread wrapping was added later, and is only suitable for display purposes. These are factory reclaimed items.
