This is a reproduction curved solid mahogany console - hand carved and stained in a multi-step process. It is a copy of an antique French piece. The wood has been treated and it will never crack under any normal conditions. It is in a brand new state in a pristine condition. The back is beautifully finished and stained as you see in the photo.

It was bought in the 1990s as a brand new piece.
