Early 19th century black painted Italian side chairs with finely painted beautiful scenes on top back rails, turned legs and newly upholstered seats in Fortuny silk. Each chair has a different courtyard scene, each one uniquely exquisite. The turned legs have a vertical design on front with one chair's design more vivid than the other. The back of the chairs as well as the legs have a faux bamboo finish as shown in photo. So unique & so beautiful! Place the chairs in a foyer, extra seating in living room, bedroom. Circa 1820.
