This gorgeous "Norwegian Rose Marble" coffee/cocktail table features an intricately carved solid wood base with a cream colored finish highlighted by very subtle hughes of bronze. The wooden base is cut perfectly to mimic the beautiful curves of the marble top, resulting in a incredibly stylish Italian Provincial piece. This type of marble originates from Norway, selected and admired for its striking aesthetics and known soft pink hughes, white and grey variations and randomised green veins. The carved base features finely cut sweet cherubs and floral wreath motifs. The top of the table is not attached to the bottom but it is extremely sturdy and stable. There are a couple very superficial scratches on the top surface of the marble, and also a minute chaffed chip on the underside of the marble (only visible underneath the table on the bottom ridge), see photos for all details. There is wear throughout the paint on the wooden base, adding to a really great patina and overall character of this table. The carved angels have some surface thin cracked lines in them, but these are consistent with age and also add to the wonderful patina of the base.
