Description
This set of 18 industrial textile quills dates to circa 1940 and reflects the utilitarian design typical of mid-20th century American and European textile mills. Each quill is constructed of turned hardwood with metal collars and fittings, used originally in mechanical looms for spinning thread. This grouping includes nine red and nine teal green quills-the thread added later for decorative purposes-creating a striking, color-blocked presentation. Their patinated metal and aged wood surfaces embody the character of authentic factory artifacts, perfect for bowl displays, shelving accents, or textile-themed decor.
