This item is a vintage 1940's Japanese Majolica biscuit jar.
Wicker handle is a bit loose at loop so be careful lifting.
It features a classic basketweave or "faux bois" (false wood) texture with hand-painted, relief-applied floral motifs-typically roses and pansies in vibrant reds and blues. Jar measures 5" tall and 6.25" in diameter from knob to knob.
