"Man with Donkey" oil painting by painter and lithographer, Jovan Obican (b. 1918 France - d. 1986 Croatia).
Obican was known for his depictions of folklore rendered in a playful, childlike style. His works often have an illustration-like quality with bold colors against black backgrounds/outlines depicting figures and animals.
This piece is no exception - a charming scene depicting a man on donkey with its bright colors against the black backdrop executed in an illustration style.
Very good, vintage condition with light patina present.
