Antique Red Painted Dovetailed Blanket Chest, Lancaster County PA, Circa 1830-1840

A handsome original-paint blanket chest found in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, dating to circa 1830-1840. The case is fully dovetailed with a walnut interior till lid and turned bun feet. The chest retains its original red painted surface throughout, showing lovely oxidation and wear that speaks to nearly two centuries of use.
At 41 1/4" case width, this is a versatile medium size - equally at home as traditional bedroom storage or repurposed as a coffee table or entry bench with storage.
