This vintage c.1950's/60's hand crafted, solid wood chess board features a classic 24 by 24 inch playing surface with 2 by 2 inch alternating squares made from contrasting hardwoods, most likely maple for the light squares and walnut for the dark squares, set within a framed border that appears to be oak around a darker mahogany toned field, creating a clean and architectural mid century look that works equally well displayed flat or standing upright.
