Striking antique chromolithograph by Ludlow depicting a pair of elegant black crested chickens, rendered with exceptional detail and rich coloration. The birds' iridescent plumage and vivid red combs stand out beautifully against a warm brick backdrop, a hallmark of late-19th century poultry breed illustrations.

Signed Ludlow at lower right, this decorative agricultural study reflects the period's fascination with selective breeding and natural history imagery. Works like this were often produced for breed manuals, farm publications, or educational folios and are now prized for their graphic appeal and farmhouse sophistication.

Matted. Dimensions: 11" x 14"
