Make a bold statement with this monumental, large-format abstract oil painting, titled Progression No. 13, by the artist Peabody. Spanning six feet in width, this original canvas features a dynamic interplay of sweeping, curved geometric forms in vibrant red and orange, contrasted by a complex, layered center of deep blues and teals. The large scale of this piece commands attention, making it an ideal focal point for an expansive living room, a professional office, or a gallery-style entryway. Historical Significance
Large-scale abstract art emerged as a dominant force in the mid-20th century, as artists sought to move beyond representation to explore pure emotional and spatial resonance. A painting of this magnitude serves as a classic example of how abstract works were used to transform architecture, acting as a structural and thematic anchor within a space. This work carries the legacy of that era, serving as a testament to the period's focus on monumental, immersive artistic experiences.

Condition Report
The painting is in good vintage condition. Consistent with its age, the piece exhibits expected craquelure, a fine network of cracks across the oil paint surface in both the blue central sections and the white background. This characteristic is a hallmark of authentic, aged oil on canvas and does not compromise the work's structural integrity. The canvas is securely stretched on its original frame.

Designers Note
I recommend placing this painting on a large, neutral wall to allow its monumental scale to truly shine. Because of its complex color palette, it pairs exceptionally well with mid-century modern furniture, such as a teak sideboard or a sleek leather sofa. The painting's dynamic curves create a sense of movement that can soften the linear lines of contemporary architecture. For a sophisticated look, consider track lighting to highlight the rich, textured layers of oil paint.
