Mary Chadwell is native to Salt Lake City, Utah and Nevada since 1933. She received her degree from the University of Nevada, Reno and studied under Jim McCormick. Although this painting is not a miniature, she is most know for her miniatures. She has received numerous awards, is in collections across the U.S. and is represented by The Stremmel Gallery, Reno.

"Truckee Autumn" is a beautiful example of her ability to paint in a realistic manner depicting the jubilant colors that sweep across Nevada in Autumn.
