The artist is a lover of the outdoors, and is often to be found in her large garden. She is fascinated with the cycle of life in the plant world: growth, decay and rebirth. Spring Forward is part of her ongoing series titled "My Back Yard," which celebrates California's verdant plant communities. This acrylic painting is on gallery wrapped canvas. It is initialed on the front and signed on the back, and has a UV protective varnish. It is in a black wood floater frame with a narrow gold front edge, which is wired and ready to hang.

Laurie MacMillan has enjoyed numerous awards and solo exhibitions, and has had pieces selected for well over a hundred juried group shows. Her work is held in personal and business collections across the U.S., and in Canada and England.
