Classic MCM bentwood armchair with original "Crosspatch" cloth designed by Joe Atkinson at Thonet brothers 1940s, extremely comfortable with curved and flexible backrest that has nailhead detail on the back. This chair in remarkable original condition, minor wear consistent with age.

Joe Atkinson designed upholstered frames of laminated wood frames bent by the steaming process that made Thonet famous.
Distributed by Thonet Industries in America, late 40s thru the 60s.
Cotton felt was is the original pad under a textured plastic upholstery (predated
"vinyl"), with a thin foam pad added to provide a little more resilience without changing the chair's profile.
