"When the Night is Over" is a large format, bright, moody, abstract expressionist oil painting by celebrated contemporary artist, Monica Shulman. Punctuating her rhythmic, gestural marks and paint drips with varying shades of indigo, pink, magenta, purple, blue, green, and white, Monica creates a vivid painting that will add dimension to any space. This painting also features subtle accents of shades of red and lavender in the bottom layers. The wide range of blue, red and pink colors, values and shades is mesmerizing and energizing. The varied texture, paint drips and bold brushwork couple with the use of oil pastel accents throughout, makes the eye travel around the painting.

This painting is part of a larger series of works that explores that dynamic tension with color and movement. Monica's gestures and marks create connection and energy, and her intuitive mark-making reflect her spirit and the humanness of her experiences.
