A scarce late Biedermeier period Mid-19th century Rococo Revival accent table gracefully rising on elegant hand carved cabriole legs, finished in the French 18th century Rococo manner of Louis XV.

The European antique work table presents with a simple, elegant design, handcrafted from solid cherry wood, at the time mahogany was extremely expensive so as was customary at the time, the cherry was mahoganized. Having a locking serpentine shaped hinged top accented by an ebonized molded edge, the top opens thanks to the shaped gilt brass escutcheon and original key. Lifting open the top reveals a fitted interior with three lidded compartments, each curved convex compartment cover finely finished with stunning contrasting rich mahogany inlay, adding a luxurious touch. Rising on elegant long ebonized cabriole legs with whorl feet.

The attractive table is solid, sturdy, functional and versatile. Having beautiful wood grain patterns and soft, warm patina over the whole. A few additional ways it can be used include an occasional table, hall entry or console table, end table, gentleman's valet stand or ladies dressing vanity, bedside nightstand, parlor lamp table and many more.
