Fine quality large seascape 19th-Century oil on canvas view of Venice canals by listed British artist Francis Moltino 1818 - 1874. A superb example of Moltino's work, it is a large scale panoramic busy canal scene with bustling activity in the foreground and the beautiful buildings of the historic city in the distance. It is likely a work painted for exhibition or a commission. Displayed in a period carved swept giltwood frame. Signed and dated 1856, lower left.
Moltino is a listed artist whose auction records exceed $35,000.
