Description
This Clark's spool cabinet is a wonderful piece of history with practical uses. It would make a great sewing notions cabinet, a stationary cabinet or a spot for any other small treasures needing a special place. The Clarks O. N. T. (Our New Thread) Thread Company was established in the 1880s by brothers George and William Clark. Made of quality walnut, this chest was made to provide functional and decorative store displays that would help customers choose their threads. I love the beauty of the wood grain, and the wonderful, embossed brass stem drawer pulls.
Condition:
Alterations: Restored
Imperfections: Some Imperfections
Condition Notes: Beautiful antique condition but, some may not appreciate, so please review photos. There is patina on the brass pulls. There have been some repairs to the top and a side it appears where splits had occurred. it has been refinished at some point, but it looks like whomever did the refinish did not completely strip down the back, which I love because it shows the original character. A beautiful piece that has flaws that come with age.
