Inspired by a recent trip to Amsterdam to view Van Gogh's sunflower paintings. Pairing these with a cowgirl felt right. The violet hued background is painted using a palette knife, the woman, hat and shirt are painted in rough brushstroke. The sunflowers are the star of the scene. I wanted to create a rustic feel with the piece, worthy of a cowgirl.
