Meredith Walker's "Desert Sunflower" is a luminous original painting that bridges abstract symbolism and folk art tradition through radiant color and bold composition. This unique acrylic and gouache painting on raw canvas reveals Walker's unique visual language rooted in spiritual connection, joy, and feminine strength. This piece is a commanding statement for art-filled interiors, collectors of modern folk expressionism, and design-forward spaces seeking works that radiate warmth and grounding.

Set against a warm-toned canvas glowing with sunburst motifs, the central composition evokes the structure of a sacred botanical emblem or ceremonial textile. A large symmetrical form anchors the image, its tree-like body extending upward into petal-like outstretched limbs, culminating in a vibrant rose bloom that feels both celestial and organic. Blossoms flank the main stem, and below, two stylized human figures with arms raised, appearing to support and celebrate the central botanical form, rooting the composition in themes of ritual and interconnectedness.

The painting's palette features burnt sienna, blush pink, ochre, and sepia tones-an earthy, elemental spectrum that mirrors the desert heat and ancient iconography. Negative space and raw canvas peek through like woven light, softening the symmetry and inviting quiet contemplation. The surrounding field of sun-like shapes in yellow and smoky brown completes the aura of sacred geometry and energetic balance.

This 48-inch high, 36-inch wide original artwork is meticulously crafted on raw canvas. It is wired, ready to hang, and requires no additional framing. It is signed by the artist on the back, and it comes with a certificate of authenticity issued by the gallery. Free delivery is available in the Los Angeles area, and affordable shipping options are offered throughout the Continental U.S. and internationally.
