Here's a nice collection of 4 Italian made imports from the Mid-Century period in the style of Gio Ponti. The ebony pair is an Otto Gerdau Import and the natural beech pair is a little later version from an unknown maker. These chairs are often mistaken for original Gio Ponti pieces, but they are not. However, Otto Gerdau sought quality makers throughout Europe and was especially adept at finding them. The contrasting colors and differing woven seats of the Gerdau Imports and the unknown Italian creator makes for a perfect intimate dining experience for those who enjoy finely made furniture.
