A small 19th century Chinese basket handwoven with rattan on a bamboo armature. This small round basket rests on a dark green painted base contrasting with its brown rattan exterior. The base is reinforced thanks to bamboo stretchers while the edge is made with a red painted bamboo rod. The interior showcases black stripes surrounding a square abstract geometrical but asymmetric pattern. This Chinese 19th century small hand woven bamboo and rattan basket would be an unusual item in most homes, and would no doubt add a rustic touch in any room, perhaps in a den where it could be used as a small storage unit.
