An antique Indian handmade jewelry box from the 19th century with brass hardware, bracket feet and partitioned interior. Created in India during the 19th century, this hand-crafted decorative treasure chest can be used as a jewelry box, stationary storage or cash box depending on the needs. The box features a rectangular lid with cut-out brass motifs in the center and corners, opening to reveal a partitioned interior with removable receptacle. The facade presents a simple diamond-shaped brass escutcheon and brass braces in the corners. Raised on petite bracket feet, the box boasts a nicely weathered patina revealing its age and great use. With its clean lines, rustic appearance and warm wooden patina, this Indian handmade treasure chest / jewelry or cash box from the 19th century will bring a touch of exotic elegance to any home, perhaps displayed atop a chest-of-drawers, a side table or on a bookshelf.
