One side is carved with a powerful eagle standing on rock, with finely detailed feathers. The reverse side depicts a hound on leash beside a candlestick, symbolizing guardianship. The eagle stands for hero, and the hound represents protection, forming the auspicious theme of hero safeguarding the family heritage. The red overlay is vividly colored, the relief has strong three-dimensionality with crisp and full lines. The base bears incised regular script mark ??Made in Qianlong Period?? within an oval frame. The bottle has plump and rounded shape, mild patina and good preservation. It is a fine example of Qianlong overlay glass snuff bottle with sophisticated craftsmanship and high collectible value.
