The left duck is made of transparent amber-red glass, while the right duck is multi-coloured overlay glass with gradient blue, green and purple hues. Feather details on wings and tails are finely carved with vivid lifelike expressions. Two separate openings are fitted with metal-mounted stoppers: coral-red bead stopper for the red duck, lapis lazuli coloured bead stopper for the colourful duck, with original snuff spoons. Mark carved on the base. Mandarin ducks symbolize marital harmony and lasting affection. This biomorphic glass snuff bottle is a fine masterpiece of Qing glass craft, with ingenious design, brilliant translucent colours and exquisite carving, possessing great aesthetic and collection value.
