Description
Weight:4700g (10.36lb) H:50cm (19.69in) H:45cm (17.72in) D:15.8cm (6.22in) This is a Ming Dynasty gilt-bronze standing statue of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. The Bodhisattva wears a five-leaf crown adorned with a miniature Buddha, holds a nine-ringed staff in the right hand and forms a mudra in the left, standing on a double-layered lotus pedestal. With flowing robe carvings and a solemn aura despite worn gilding, it embodies the realistic style and compassionate spirit of Ming Dynasty Chinese Buddhist sculptures, representing a classic form for folk worship centered on Ksitigarbha's vow: "Until the hells are empty, I will not attain Buddhahood."
