Description
Weight:1938g (4.27lb) H:26.6cm (10.47in) W:19cm (7.48in) T:11cm (4.33in) This is a Qing Dynasty gilt-bronze painted statue of Marici (Goddess of Light) , a guardian deity and goddess of light in Tibetan Buddhism. Seated in a relaxed posture atop a wild boar, adorned with an elaborate crown and beaded ornaments, the statue retains its solemnity despite worn gilding and pigments. Marici is revered for her power to grant invisibility, dispel disasters, and protect sentient beings. This work embodies the exquisite craftsmanship and compassionate majesty of Tibetan Buddhist protective deity art, representing a classic form of Tibetan Buddhist iconography.
