Charming 1920s European Vineyard / Harvest Scene

Original watercolor and pencil on paper - depicting stylized figures harvesting grapes in a vineyard.

Suggests Bacchus, Angels and Muses, with truly beautiful detailing and colors.

Rich Yellow, Soft Purple and Lavender, Lush Greens, and Antique White on the Cherubic figures hard at work in the vines - with a pop of French blue on the Vintner in the top center.

Signed and dated "Jos. Lacina 1923" lower right.

Unframed. Positioned on a deep plum paper lining that is a lovely accent to the artwork itself - appears to be original to the piece.

Dimensions approx. 6 1/2" x 6" - including the backdrop it measures 12.75" by 9.75.

In keeping with Aesop's fable, Fox and Crow's Motto is "Beware of False Flattery!" So, with each listing we offer a true confession about the item...

We live in Virginia wine country and are patrons of several excellent vineyards here -so winemaking elements and tributes appeal to us in all their forms.

This is just lovely - in fact, it's beautiful. The figures, the details, the colors...all gorgeous.

A gem of an artwork, that makes you smile within seconds. In a fabulous frame this will become an instant heirloom.
