A striking nineteenth-century original lithograph depicting the legendary steamship Great Eastern, one of the most ambitious engineering achievements of the Victorian era. Published by The Illustrated London News in 1857, this finely detailed color lithograph portrays the massive vessel under full sail and steam power, emphasizing both her immense scale and technological sophistication.

Designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the Great Eastern was the largest ship in the world at the time of her launch and represented a bold leap forward in maritime innovation.  A wonderful example of Victorian maritime art and one of the most recognizable images associated with Brunel's groundbreaking steamship.
