The exterior is iron?red ground adorned with relief?carved archaic kui?dragon and spiral motifs, all outlines meticulously filled with gilding, echoing the ritual bronzes of Shang?Zhou dynasties. The base is covered in simulated hawksbill?shell mottled glaze, with an incised and gilded six?character square seal mark ??Da Qing Qian Long Nian Zhi??. Integrating porcelain relief carving, gilding and simulated?stone glaze techniques, it is a fine Qianlong?period archaistic display vessel.
