D:5.4cmWeight:44gThis coin was minted by Zhang Xianzhong, leader of a late Ming peasant rebellion, to reward meritorious soldiers after he established the Daxi regime. The obverse bears the characters "Xi Wang Shang Gong" (The King of the West Rewards Merit), while the reverse is plain. Made of bronze, it was not a circulating currency but a symbol of honor, like a military medal. Extremely rare, it is one of the most coveted treasures in Chinese numismatics and is known as one of the "Fifty Famous Ancient Coins."
