Description
D:3.9cm (1.54in) Weight:27g (0.06lb)This silver coin was minted in the 17th year of the Republic of China (1928) by the Gansu Mint. The obverse features a front-facing portrait of Sun Yat-sen with the inscription "Republic of China Year 17". The reverse displays the denomination "??", with traces of red lacquer auspicious characters, typical of folk "lucky character coins". It is a rare example of Republican-era local coinage.
