Description
Height:5cm(1.97in) Width:9cm(3.54in) Weight:2630g(5.791lb)This lot comprises a complete set of four Han bronze mat weights of identical form. Each weight is modelled as a coiled tiger with raised head and piercing eyes, conveying a powerful demeanour. The tiger??s body curls into a circular disc shape for pressing mats. Gold and silver wires are inlaid across the surface to delineate fine tiger stripes with smooth, intricate lines. Geometric patterns decorate the base rim. The bronze bears thick, variegated ancient patina with turquoise and reddish rust. Preserved as an intact quartet, they showcase superb gold and silver inlay craftsmanship. Complete sets of Han mat weights are exceedingly rare and represent high-status aristocratic furnishings of the period.
