Description
Height:13cm(5.12in) Width:18.5cm(7.28in) Weight:2220g(4.894lb)This is a bronze covered box of the Warring States period, with rounded rectangular body and domed lid fitted with three ring knobs. Two movable ring handles are attached on both sides of the vessel. The whole piece adopts gold and silver inlay technique, covered with fine thunder-cloud ground patterns. The main decoration on lid and body features gold-inlaid hunting scenes and groups of mythical beasts, with galloping beasts, armed hunters and interspersed birds, presenting strong vitality. The central area of the lid is inlaid with coloured gemstones, creating a gorgeous contrast of gold and silver. Multi-layer ancient patina with mixed red and green encrustation covers the surface, the patina is deep and aged. Gold and silver inlay represents the top-tier bronze craftsmanship of Warring States. Elaborate composition and fluent lines make this vessel a noble storage treasure with remarkable artistic value.
