Description
Height:11cm(4.33in) Width:26cm(10.24in) Weight:1885g(4.156lb)This is a bronze standing tiger of the Warring States Period. The tiger strides forward with a powerful body, head raised and mouth open, conveying majestic vigour. The whole surface is decorated with gold and silver inlay of elaborate scrolling cloud and chi-dragon patterns, with interlaced gorgeous gold and silver lines. Turquoise, red agate, lapis lazuli and other colourful gemstones are densely inlaid all over the body, presenting brilliant colours. The bronze body is heavy and solid, covered with thick layered teal ancient patina full of archaic charm. Integrating lost-wax casting, gold-silver inlay and gemstone inlay techniques, the piece represents the pinnacle of Warring States bronze animal sculpture. It combines imposing momentum with delicate ornamentation, boasting supreme artistic value and extreme rarity among surviving antiquities
