Height:10.5cm(4.13in) Width:7cm(2.76in) Weight:95g(0.209lb)Carved from celadon jade, this gui-shaped plaque is equipped with four sets of perforations on the rim for stringing. The jade naturally suffused with red patina gradually spreading inward from edges, coated with mellow ancient patina. The obverse surface is fully inlaid with fragmented turquoise assembled into beast mask motif. The turquoise pieces vary in size with rich tonal variation, and round turquoise beads are separately inlaid for eyes, forming solemn and mysterious composition. Combining slab carving, line engraving and turquoise inlay, it is a Shang ritual pendant embodying ancient shamanic belief, very rare in existence.
