Height:3.9cm(1.54in)Width:3.1cm(1.22in)Weight:90g(0.198lb)**Wei and Jin Dynasties** Multi-faceted jade seal. It is a sixteen-sided jade seal with polyhedral shape. Sixteen square seal faces are carved on the body, each face incised with seal script characters. The seal has thick patina with earthy yellow and turquoise mineral infiltration, and vermilion cinnabar traces remain on seal surfaces. The characters are in small seal script with neat layout and primitive, powerful strokes. This rare multi-sided personal seal combines multiple inscriptions on one piece for easy carrying. It serves both as official credential and antiquarian ornament. Surviving examples are extremely scarce, bearing great value in epigraphy, archaeology and art history.
