Length:50cm(19.69in) Width:8.5cm(3.35in) Weight:1170g(2.579lb)This is a pair of ceremonial jade swords of Shang Dynasty. The blades are carved from green jade, long and straight with sharp tips. The jade surface is covered with white calcification and yellowish-brown soil patina, penetrating into the jade texture with ancient patina. The guard and pommel are cast in bronze, densely inlaid with turquoise mosaics assembled into phoenix and beast-mask patterns. The bronze has multi-layer rust, and most turquoise pieces remain intact. As royal Shang ritual artefacts, combining bronze inlay and jade carving techniques, surviving as a pair is extremely rare. They represent masterpieces of ancient composite craftsmanship and hold great historical and artistic value.
