Length:69cm(27.17in) Width:5cm(1.97in) Weight:1010g(2.227lb)This bronze sword dates to the Warring States Period. It has a slender blade with a sharp tip. The whole blade is decorated with continuous rhombus lattice patterns outlined by gold and silver inlay, and turquoise is inlaid inside the rhombus frames. The green gemstones set off beautifully with gold and silver threads. The sword guard bears gold-inlaid inscriptions, and the two rings on the hilt as well as the disc pommel are decorated with gold inlay. The bronze is covered with thick, layered and natural patina. Combining gold, silver and turquoise inlay techniques, it is a high-status ritual sword for nobles of the Warring States. Masterfully crafted and rarely preserved, it carries outstanding historical and artistic value.
