Description
Height:8.7cm(3.43in)Width:6.2cm(2.44in)Weight:70g(0.154lb)Han Dynasty Jade Openwork Dragon and Phoenix She-shaped Pendant (Heart-shaped Pendant). Carved from yellow Hetian jade, partially stained with brown patina, covered with mellow ancient patina. The main body retains the heart-shaped outline of the she-artefact, with shallow carved cloud and beast mask patterns on the surface. Multi-layer openwork is applied around the perimeter, sculpting interwoven chi dragons and phoenixes. The winding lines are elegant, interspersed with scroll cloud tendrils, and the hollowing is exquisite. The she-shaped pendant evolved from an archer??s thumb ring in pre-Qin times and became a noble personal pendant in Han Dynasty. This piece features elaborate and unrestrained carving with well-balanced composition. It is a high-ranking jade of Han Dynasty, representing the peak of Han jade openwork craftsmanship, with outstanding artistic and archaeological value.
