It has small constricted mouth, plump rounded body and neat foot, an ideal vessel for holding water in the study. Coated with lustrous white glaze, the exterior is decorated in famille?rose enamels depicting a sparrow bending down to drink from an earthen jar, with finely rendered feather textures and lively posture. A cord?ring ornament is painted beside the jar. The base bears four?character blue?and?white square?framed mark ??Yong?zheng Nian Zhi??. Boasting smooth glaze, soft palette and exquisite painting, it represents a delightful Qing scholar?studio treasure.This is an imperial scholar?studio water?holder of Yongzheng reign. It has a contracted mouth and plump rounded body, refined porcelain body covered with lustrous white glaze. The exterior is realistically painted in famille?rose depicting a sparrow bending forward to drink, perching upon the rim of a small jar. Every feather is minutely rendered with vivid expression. Clear water inside the jar and cord?like decorations complete the composition. Soft?toned and finely shaded, blending western realistic painting skill with traditional Chinese scholar?taste aesthetics. Base bears underglaze?blue four?character square mark ??Yong Zheng Nian Zhi??. Compact and exquisite, it represents fine Yongzheng famille?rose scholar?studio porcelain
