Description
Height:17cm(6.69in), Width:9cm(3.54in)A Song?dynasty Ru?yao censer modelled after luduan, a mythical auspicious beast symbolizing wisdom and protection. Standing four?legged figure with single horn upon its head, its open mouth functions as smoke outlet. The mane is finely detailed, and the body is fully covered with carved scale patterns. Tiny spur marks remain on each foot base. The head section can be detached for loading incense. Coated in iconic Ru?yao sky?blue glaze permeated by fine ice?crack craquelure. Combining vivid mythical?beast sculpture and practical incense?burning function, it is an elegant scholarly display object of Song dynasty.
